Commonwealth Arms is a federally licensed firearms dealer.  All state and federal laws apply to any firearms transfer.  Virginia residents must provide their drivers license or DMV issued ID card, non residents must also provide a second form of identification,  complete the federal form 4473, the state form SP-65, and pass a instant criminal background check before purchasing a firearm.  If you are prohibited by law from owning a firearm please do not waste your time or ours.  All in state sales are subject to 5.3% Virginia sales tax.

Commonwealth Arms accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards, cashiers checks, money orders, and of course cash.  We accept personal checks in shop from Virginia and West Virginia residents only.  For mail order we will accept personal checks from all states, but we will hold them a minimum of 10 days to ensure that they clear before shipping

If Commonwealth Arms does not stock what you are looking for, we will gladly special order it for you.  Deliveries of special ordered firearms that are standard, common, catologued models typically can be delivered in three to four business days.  Understand deliveries of specialty items can take much longer.  We deal with many distributors and each of them do a fine job of delivering product to us when it is available.  However, please understand that not all firearms, especially those that are not widely popular, are not available at all times.  We do our best to process special orders quickly.  Special orders require a nonrefundable deposit of 20% down when the order is placed.  The balance is due when the firearm arrives.  Special orders must be picked up within seven (7) business days of their arrival in our shop.  Failure to do so will result in the gun being returned or placed into inventory and forfeiture of your deposit.  Non firearm special orders will be added to the next regular order we place.  Commonwealth Arms cannot place a special order for a $10 item, it must be grouped with a regular order.  Many of our distributors have minimum order of $300.  Adhearing to this allows us to keep prices as low as possible.  If you are planning to trade a firearm on a special ordered firearm we need to know about it before the order is placed.  If a special order is made under the agreement of a direct sale and the buyer shows up with a trade gun Commonwealth Arms reserves the right to refuse the trade.  If this policy seems strict understand that it must be, we have been "hung" with more than a few special ordered guns over the years.  Folks, read this closely, a special order shall not under any circumstances be treated as a layaway.  We are able to keep our prices low by not keeping money tied up.

Commonwealth Arms will gladly ship a firearm to any licensed dealer in the lower 48 states except for California due to the states idiotic dealer databasing law.  We charge a flat rate of $30.00 for rifles east of the Mississippi and $40.00 for rifles west of the Mississippi.  Handguns are shipped to any state for $20.00.  We must have a copy of the dealers FFL in order to ship.  We accept mailed, faxed, and E-Mailed copies.  For shipping to Alaska and Hawai please call for quote. We offer a three day non firing, no disassembly return policy on all shipped firearms less the cost of shipping both ways.  Please note that the three day inspection begins upon arrival of the firearm at you FFL.

Commonwealth Arms has adopted a new layaway policy effective February 1st 2017.  This new policy will allow the customer to initiate layaways on a wider variety of firearms while at the same time not impacting Commonwealth Arms' ability to sell new firearms to customers wishing to purchase straight out.

We are proud to introduce the "30-30"   The plan is simple, and is the ONLY layaway plan that we will be offering.  The "30-30" plan means you pay 30% down and have 30 days from that date to pay off your firearm.  With Commonwealth Arms" low prices we fill that 30 days is a reasonable amount of time to pay off any layaway.

1.  Only IN STOCK firearms may be placed on layaway

2.  No firearm with an asking price of under $300.00 may be placed on layaway

3.  All layaways will be done at the full regular Commonwealth Arms price, firearms that are on sale may not be put on layaway at the sale price

4.  Absolutely no extensions will be granted, it is your responsibility to make sure the layaway is paid off on time.  If the layaway is not paid off in full by the due date you will forfeit ANYTHING that you have paid on it and the firearm will return to inventory for general sale.

5.  You may not "switch guns" in the middle of a layaway.

6.  Allocated (hard to get) items are not eligible for layaway

Commonwealth Arms first commitment is to offer the best products at the best prices to our customers.  To do so we must make certain that these products are available for general sale.  We hope this new policy, which is based on the current industry standard among firearms retailers nation wide, is able to expand our ability to service our customers as for the last 18 months we have not had a real layaway option available.  Again, this is the ONLY plan we are offering

THIS POLICY HAS CHANGED PLEASE READ   Commonwealth Arms will transfer a firearm from another dealer for you.  Our transfer policy is as follows.  !. The customer is responsible for setting up all aspects of the transfer, this includes contacting the seller, providing the seller with a copy of our license, and providing all information needed to conduct the transfer.  2. Commonwealth Arms requires the customers contact information to be provided by the customer and the information about what type of firearm is being transferred.  3.  Commonwealth Arms will not accept transfers from individuals, only FFL's.  4.  The firearm being transferred must comply with all VA and federal laws.  5. In the event of a return or damaged firearm all claims are to be handled by the customer and the shipping dealer.  6.  Commonwealth Arms will not accept ANY firearm that is in stock at our shop as a transfer,.  7.  FEE's  Used guns will be transferred for a flat fee of $25.00  NEW firearms will be transferred for a flat fee of $40.00

THIS POLICY HAS CHANGED PLEASE READ IN DETAIL.  Commonwealth Arms offers consignment sales as a service to our customer.  Typically we will take any firearm on consignment for the fee of 10% of the selling price upon sale of the firearm.  Consignment firearms should be priced to sell. at or below book value "fishing" is to be done elsewhere as over priced firearms will not sell and take up valuable shop space.

All new firearms are warrantied by the manufacturer.  Commonwealth Arms is not a warranty repair station and we offer no warranty of any kind written or expressed.  If a new firearm is in need of warranty service we will be happy to advise you on where to return it for warranty service.  Commonwealth Arms will ship your gun back for you for a flat service charge of $35.00. All used guns are inspected by Commonweatlh Arms to the best of our ability to determine that they function propertly, however, all used firearms are sold as is.
